Modelbases, Model Families & Frameworks

Models in the whatIf? Modelling Platform are organized through modelbases, model families and frameworks. They are described as follows:

  • Modelbase - contains a collection of independent model families. Any other comments on what organizational benefit/function the modelbase provides? FIXME
  • Model family - a model family contains the logic and all associated scenario and historical data for a particular model.
  • Framework - a model family typically contains two frameworks - one for future simulation (simulation framework) and another for historical calibration (calibration framework). It is possible for a model family to have just a simulation framework FIXME.
